Job Description

This is an opportunity to work as an AutoCAD Technician for a well established, successful and dynamic Geo-Environmental Consultancy. The successful candidate will be self-motivated and a highly competent individual with a good level of education and the desire to progress within an expanding company. The company specialises in the investigation, assessment and management of Geo-technical and Geo-Environmental issues upon new development sites.

As AutoCAD Technician you will report to the Directors of Contaminated Land and your principal role will be office based, supporting the team by producing technical/illustrative AutoCAD drawings for contamination and drainage and trained in the use of Mapinfo.

Other duties may include the opportunity to assist the department undertaking desk studies, environmental monitoring and ground investigation work.

Responsibilities


- Establish the context of technical work required of you from other staff members.

- Using AutoCAD and Mapinfo to prepare illustrative plans, exploratory hole logs, constraint plans, flood risks and drainage plans to name a few in accordance with the project purpose.

- Potential for site visits once trained including soakaway testing, gas and vapour monitoring, soil and rock logging, soil sampling, groundwater sampling, level surveys, site reconnaissance/features surveys.

Skills Required


- A good knowledge of AutoCAD.

- Good academic grades at GCSE and preferably a higher level of education (A level, College and/or University).

- 6 months + work experience.

- A full driving license.

- A qualification and/or interest in a relevant subject preferred although not essential. (e.g Earth Science/ Geography/Geology).

- A natural aptitude for technology with excellent organisational and presentation skills, ensuring quality of work on both a technical and aesthetic level.

- Ambitious with an enthusiasm for and commitment to learning and career development.
